Facebook

I should have known when... my boyfriend untagged all 26 photos of us on his facebook page, that he was on the prowl.

Shredder

I should have known when....my co-worker took the paper shredder into her office and spent days making confetti, that she was about to quit and dump me with the busiest time of year.

I should've known when....

My friend, Linda, and I used to sit in her hot tub a few years ago, sharing a bottle of wine, while looking over her horse pasture. She had lost her horses in a divorce and I had lost my farm. We made quite a pair. We were both in our forties and dating again. One of us was usually crying and the other one laughing, helping each other to see the humor in the situations we experienced. Our daughters were teenagers and we would say, “someday we have to write a book for our daughters, I should have known when.” It would be our sage advice for them so they did not make the same mistakes we did. Every time Linda and I were with a group of friends we would mention this title. I’d say nine times out of ten, someone would say, “I want to add one…” and it would start. We’d go around the room, everyone adding a chapter. Problem is, we never wrote them down. We’d laugh, we’d talk but we never got to writing. Now it is time. My daughters are old enough now where I wouldn’t die of embarrassment. They’ve been with me for most of my escapades.
This is not a “women only” blog. I’m sure men have just as much to add. The stories I know came from women but the invitation is open to all. I’m sure there are all kinds of topics from relationships, pets, cars, houses, who knows?
